Region Seven man succumbs to COVID-19

Guyana’s COVID-19 deaths now stand at 345 and 102 new cases were reported.

The Ministry of Health announced that a 56-year-old man from Region Seven died while receiving care at a medical facility.

Meanwhile the new cases increased Guyana’s total case count to 15,454 after 1,482 persons were tested, increasing the total number of persons tested to date to 139,212. The new cases were reported in eight regions; two new cases each in regions One and Seven, four new cases each in regions Three, Five, and Ten, 72 in Region Four, six in Region Six, and Eight in Region Nine.

There are now 1,843 active cases, 111 of whom are in institutional isolation while 1,732 are in home isolation. Fourteen persons remain in the COVID-19 ICU and 167 more persons have recovered from the virus.

Guyana’s total number of recoveries now stand at 13,252.
