Two more die of COVID-19, 160 new cases confirmed

Two new COVID-19 deaths were on Friday recorded along with 160 new cases of the virus.

The Ministry of Health announced that the country’s death toll as a result of the novel coronavirus increased to 351, with the two newest fatalities being identified as a 52-year-old woman from Region Three and a 58-year-old man from Region Six. They both died while receiving care.

Meanwhile the country’s total confirmed cases increased to 15,903 after new cases were recorded from 1,061 tests.

The updated COVID-19 dashboard showed that new cases were reported in all ten administrative regions: Region One (1), Region Two (8), Region Three (27), Region Four (63), Region Five (10), Region Six (5), Region Seven (19), Region Eight (16), Region Nine (2) and Region Ten (9).

There are now 1,989 active cases, 113 of which are in institutional isolation while another 1,876 are in home isolation. The number of persons in the country’s COVID-19 ICU stood at 18 even as 92 additional persons recovered from the virus, increasing the country’s total recovered cases to 13,545.
