BMX bandits rob Lodge biker at Turkeyen

A motorcyclist was on Saturday night beaten with a cutlass by identifiable bandits on a BMX bicycle at Turkeyen, East Coast Demerara before they robbed him of his ten pennyweight gold chain valued at $50,000.

The victim, a twenty-seven-year-old mechanic of Lodge, according to a police report, was about 8:30 pm on Saturday sitting on his motorcycle which was parked along the Turkeyen Eastern Highway Access Road in the vicinity of  MovieTowne when he was approached by the perpetrators on a BMX bicycle.

One of the suspects dealt him several lashes about his body causing him to suffer injuries. The second suspect then snatched his chain which was around his neck before they made good their escape on their bicycle. Checks for the suspects were carried out but they could not be found.
