Man, 73, and woman, 67, are latest COVID-19 fatalities

The country’s COVID-19 death toll continued to rise on Saturday when the Ministry of Health reported two more deaths and 98 new cases of the virus.

The Ministry of Health announced that the two latest fatalities are a 73-year-old man from Region Four and a 67-year-old woman from Region Three, who both succumbed while receiving medical care. With the new deaths, the country’s death toll rose to 382. A total of 83 deaths have been recorded so far in May, which has officially been the deadliest month since COVID-19 was first detected here last year March.

Meanwhile, the Ministry said that with the 98 new cases, the total number of confirmed cases climbed to 16,822.

A total of 22 persons are currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), while 109 persons are in institutional isolation and 1,841 are in home isolation.
