The Berbice Cricket Board will meet with all clubs on August 4 to discuss a potential restart of cricket in the Ancient County.
This is according to the Public Relations Officer, Simon Naidu through the Board’s official social media which detailed that the meeting will be held at the Albion Community Centre.
Each club will be asked to have one delegate with the proper wearing of masks and social distancing being mandatory.
It is proposed that cricket could potentially return during September, having been paused earlier this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
However, the restart will be dependent on the weather and players receiving their COVID-19 vaccine.
“With this mind, President Hilbert Foster and executives of the board would like to extend an official invitation to all clubs to attend a very important meeting on Wednesday,” the post stated.
In addition to the discussion on the restart, the agenda will also feature the discussion on who should benefit from the distribution of the multi-million-dollar cricket gear donation, the hosting of four mini-cricket academies, rules under the cricket resumption including the need for vaccinations, ideas for cricket development and a comprehensive report on the development of Berbice cricket over the last three years.
