Wong inks sponsorship deal with Guyana Beverages Inc.,

National table tennis player Miguel Wong received a timely boost in his efforts to participate at the Junior Pan American Games in Cali, Colombia in November, when he inked a sponsorship package with Guyana Beverages Inc., (GBI) under their ‘Altitude’ Sports Drink brand.

This was confirmed by a press release from the company which is headquartered in Diamond, East Bank Demerara.

According to the correspondence, the presentation occurred on Monday at Wong’s local club, Titans, which is located at Eve Leary, Georgetown.

Raymond Govinda, GBI’s Marketing Manager, said that the company has been an avid supporter of sports since its inception on local soil and is happy to support Wong in his bid to compete at the competition.

He explained, “We are happy to support Miguel on his journey to Cali. GBI has always been a proud supporter of sports in Guyana dating back to when the company first came to Guyana, and we will continue to show our support.”

Govinda added, “Miguel is an excellent young athlete and we always want to see our athletes, especially the younger ones perform well and we have full confidence that he will make us and Guyana proud.”

Wong during brief remarks, thanked the company for its invaluable contribution which will certainly aid in his participation at the tournament. The Junior Pan American Games, which is scheduled for November 25th-December 4th, is a multi-sports tournament for athletes between the ages of 17-22. It is organized by Panam Sports.

The release disclosed that Wong aims to travel to either Germany or the United States of America to train at a High Performance Camp in preparation for the prestigious tournament.
