Dear Editor,
The centuries old landmark police station on Brickdam is no more, demolished by the ravages of fire. This is indeed a sad occurrence. It has to be wondered though, why successive administrations never sought to have the building redone/rebuilt in a more durable material? It has not escaped notice that the prison, in which seventeen prisoners died, like this police station have been the casualties of the ravages of fire, both under the security portfolio.
