Guyanese basketball duo propel ASA College of New York to third consecutive win

Guyanese national basketball players, Israel Yaw and Akeem Crandon, once again assisted ASA College of New York to a lopsided 78-54 win over Essex County College on Thursday.

It was the third consecutive win for the unbeaten ASA College in as many matches, the former Plaisance Guardians combination combined for 23 points and 15 rebounds.

Yaw, who was the second highest scorer for the winning side, bagged impressive figures of 18 points, eight rebounds, 3 blocks, one steal and an assist. On the other hand, it was a quiet evening for Crandon who recorded five points and seven rebounds.

ASA College, to date, has recorded wins against University of Connecticut at Avery Point, and Dutchess Community College. The team will now turn their attention to Borough of Manhattan Community College on Tuesday November 30.
