Two million dollars for Super-16 winner

The Guyana Football Federation (GFF)/Kashif and Shanghai Super 16 year-end championships will attract a first prize package of $2,000,000.

This was confirmed following the official publication of the tournament rules and regulations to the respective member associations and competing teams.

According to the correspondence, a total of $3,750,000 in prize monies will be paid out to the resulting top four finishers in the event, with the eventual winners pocketing $2,000,000.

The runners- up will collect $1,000,000, with the third and fourth place finishers walking away with $500,000 and $250,000 respectively.

The document also disclosed that all participating teams will be afforded a grant of $200,000 to aid in their preparation for the competition.

It also stated that all teams will be allowed a total of six guest players in their 25 member squad for the duration of the event subject to the approval of the tournament committee, and that any formal protest must be accompanied by a fee of $10,000 payable to the General Secretary.

The document also confirmed the 19 participating teams. They are: Fruta Conquerors, Western Tigers, Den Amstel, Guyana Defence Force, Buxton United, Santos, Guyana Police Force, Milerock, Ann’s Grove, Victoria Kings, GFA All-Stars, Bartica All-Stars, Essequibo All-Stars, UDFA All-Stars, Rupununi All-Stars, West Demerara All-Stars, East Bank All-Stars, East Coast All-Stars and Berbice All-Stars.

The correspondence also disclosed that a fine structure will be implemented for varying infractions inclusive of team tardiness, uniform infringements and bringing matches into disrepute by players or spectators.

It also disclosed that the tournament director is Assistant Technical Director Bryan Joseph.
