The tall coconut tree is still hanging dangerously over my house even after the president spoke with his minister

Dear Editor,

Please publish this letter with the use of my name as signed herein. President Irfaan Ali must be commended for his concern and interest into my complaint which was previously made to the relevant authorities without any action being taken in a simple issue with a coconut tree. The tall tree, with its roots in my neighbour’s yard and laden with produce, is hanging dangerously over my farm house at Onderneeming Sand Pit, Essequibo Coast while injecting much fear for anyone to be around the building more so inside.

As a last resort after failing to get a response from top Region # 2 officials, and even the Minister of Local Government, the intervention of the President became necessary and it turned out to be a good move. It is on record that since December 07, last the President directed the Minister of Local Government and Regional Development to take the appropriate action but on to now nothing was done with the delay being unacceptable when better needs to be done. Too late the cry shall be when something seriously happens, only to realize that prevention is always better than cure and a stitch in time can save nine. Keep up the good works Mr. President.

Sincerely,

Mindrapai Mooniedar
