Third time not a charm for ASA College

ASA College was dumped from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division 1 Championship after a 57-67 points defeat  to Munroe College in the semi-final round Tuesday evening.

It was a third defeat by ASA College, the losing semi-finalists in Region 15 of 19, to Munroe College.

The previous two regular season meetings ended 51-89 and 64-73 in favour of Munroe College.

Guyana’s Akeem Crandon recorded a double of 10 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and three steals, while Israel Yaw tallied 14 points, eight rebounds, one steal and one block for ASA College which ended their season with a 12-10 record.

They defeated Dutchess Community College, University of Connecticut at Avery Point, Essex County College (1st meeting), Union Com-munity College, Hostos Community College (twice), Roxbury Community College, Touro College (1st meeting), Bronx Community College, Sullivan County and Mount Saint Vincent JV.

They incurred defeats  against Raritan Valley, Eastern Florida State, Suffolk, Harcum College (1st meeting), Rockland Community College, Essex County (2nd meeting), and Touro College (2nd meeting).
