CJIA wins GTT Super6 tapeball competition

Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) defeated Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC) in the final of the GTT Inter Ministries/Government Agencies Super6 tapeball cricket competition held Saturday.

Staged at the Durban Park Tarmac, GGMC scored 66/5 from their allotted six overs. J. Thomas top scored with 23 runs. In reply, CJIA raced to 73 runs without loss. K. Vieira led the assault with 57 runs to claim the Man-of-the-Match award.

CJIA walked away with $100,000 and the championship trophy while GGMC received $60,000 and the runners-up accolade. In the Inter-Secondary School competition which featured six institutions, Patentia defeated North Georgetown in the final.

Meanwhile, the Georgetown Office Assistants Promotional Committee will host an Inter Ministries/Government Agencies Domino Championship tomorrow at the GPSU Hall on Regent Street and Shiv Chanderpaul Drive.

Over $200,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to the respective finishers. Team registration ends at noon tomorrow. The event is being coordinated by James ‘Uprising’ Lewis.
