Diamond Secondary win tapeball competition

Diamond Secondary for the second consecutive year won the Pre-Mash Inter-Secondary Schools tape-ball cricket competition, defeating Vergenoegen by nine wickets on Saturday at the Durban Park Tarmac.

Batting first, Vergenoegen scored 34 from their allotted four fours and, in reply, Diamond romped to 37/1 to seal the championship.

In the earlier semi-final round, Diamond Secondary defeated Patentia Secondary by 32 runs. Batting first, Diamond scored 61 from their allotted four overs. In reply, Patentia could only muster 29 runs. In the second semi-final fixture, Vergenoegen defeated St. Rose’s High.

The Church Road unit batted first and scored 28 runs in their four overs. In response, Vergenoegen reached 34 to secure the win.

The event was organized by the Holy Family Bible Club.
