Anderson, Sinclair hit tons in Telenec first-division opener

The Berbice Cricket Board/Telenec 50-overs first-division tournament bowled off Saturday with Kevlon Anderson and Kevin Sinclair smashing centuries.

Playing at Albion Community Centre, Rose Hall Town Namilco (RHT) defeated Blairmont Blazers by 204 runs. RHT posted 293 for seven and dismissed Blazers for 89 in 26.2 overs.

Anderson struck eight boundaries during his 104, adding 106 for the second-wicket with West Indies all-rounder, Sinclair who hammered eight fours and four sixes during his 101 before being stumped off of Seon Glasgow (3-48).

Sinclair shared a 46-run opening partnership with Junior Sinclair (11). Keon Sinclair made 30 not out while Eon Hooper chipped in with 21.

Junior Sinclair returned to take 3-12 while Kevin Sinclair and Clinton Pestano grabbed two wickets for 15 and 16 runs respectively. Nigel Deodat top scored with 26 and Kevon Jawahir made 15.

At Port Mourant, Young Warriors scampered to a one-wicket win over the hosts. Port Mourant made 190 all out in 37.1 overs while Young Warriors reached 193 for nine in 38 overs.

Joshua Ramsammy top scored with 56 while Rampertab Ramnauth made 40 and Madhan Budhan 35. Trevon Stanislaus took 3-37 and Suresh Dhani 3-43.

In the chase, Kassim Khan saw his side over the line with 38 not out while Dhani (30) and Ricardo Ramdeholl (28) lent support. Vickey Samaroo and Yogendra Harrinarine took two wickets each.

At West Berbice, the hosts suffered a seven-wicket loss to Tucber Park after being bowled out for a paltry 37 in 14.3 overs. Tucber Park then raced to 42 for three in 5.2 overs.

Shemar Joseph was the architect of West Berbice’s demise with 6-12 and Kwesie Mickle complemented with 3-3. No batsman reached double figures.
