Pouderoyen in come-from-behind-win

Pouderoyen FC came from two goals down to defeat West Demerara All-Stars 4-3 when their pre-season campaign continued Sunday at the National Track and Field Centre, Leonora.

Head-coach Shaveen Ghent-Bess during a post-match comment, said, “The team played below par at best. It was a hard-fought victory but I prefer an ugly victory than a pretty loss. I think we need to take our opponents more seriously in how we get ourselves ready for the game mentally. However, I must commend them because we have not been training properly and they showed mental resilience.”

For the winner, Chad Mathews tallied a double in the 25th and 45th minute, while Dwayne St. Kitts, and Devin Gaskin recorded conversions in the 20th and 60th minute respectively. For the loser, Shem Porter fashioned a brace in the first and fifth minute, while Esan Nelson scored in the 90th+1 minute.
