Contractor robbed of cash and valuables by armed biker

A 30-year-old contractor was on Monday night robbed of devices and cash totalling more than half a million dollars when he was pounced on by two armed suspects while walking along Kaikan Street, North Ruimveldt, Georgetown

Following the robbery, the suspects escaped with one iPhone valued $120,000, one Apple laptop computer valued $430,000, and $80,000 in cash.

The police report stated that their enquiries revealed that about 8:45 pm on the night in question, the victim was walking along Kaikan Street in the vicinity of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, on his way home, when the suspects rode up alongside him on a motorcycle.

The pillion rider pulled a knife from his waist and pointed it in a threatening manner at the victim while his accomplice, the rider who was armed with a handgun, relieved the victim of the aforementioned items.

The rider then discharged a round in the air before escaping on the motorcycle with his accomplice.

Investigations are ongoing.
