Defending champion Christianburg/Wismar, and North Ruimveldt sealed their respective semi-final berths following lopsided quarterfinal wins yesterday in the Milo Secondary School Football Championship at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Christianburg/Wismar mauled Cummings Lodge 5-0. Kemar McLaren fashioned a hat-trick in the 17th, 67th and 76th minute, while Demol Warner, and Kelvin Vincent found the back of the net in the 35th and 69th minute respectively.

Similarly, North Ruimveldt dismissed West Ruimveldt 3-0. First half goals from Onar Sam, Akeem Perreira and Jevon Pluck in the seventh, 21st and 27th minute respectively.The Lindeners will now oppose East Coast Demerara unit Golden Grove, while North Ruimveldt will battle Dolphin Secondary. Both matches will be hosted at the same venue on Sunday.

The victor of the event will collect $300,000, the championship trophy, and gold medals. On the other hand, the runner-up will pocket $200,000, the corresponding accolade, and silver medals. The third place finisher will receive $100,000, a trophy, and bronze medals while the fourth place side will walk away with $75,000 and a trophy.

The most disciplined team will be awarded a trophy. On the individual side, the most valuable player (MVP) will receive a pair of cleats and a trophy, while the highest goal scorer will receive an identical prize package. The best goalkeeper will receive a pair of gloves and a trophy.
