Futsal fixtures released

The fixtures for the opening and second night of action in the 8th annual ‘Keep Your Five Alive’ Futsal Championship, set for the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue, Georgetown, was officially released yesterday.

This was confirmed by an official release from the tournament coordinator, Adoni Productions. On Saturday, East Front Road will oppose Upsetters at 19:00hrs, while Campbellville tackles Festival City at 19:30hrs, and Pike Street Sophia battles Alexander Village at 20:00hrs.

In the fourth match, Tiger Bay locks horns with Good Over Evil at 20:30hrs, whilst Albouystown Warriors takes aim at Foot Stepper from 21:00hrs and Bent Street matches skills with Timehri Ballers at 21:30hrs.

In the final two matches, Gold is Money faces-off with Vengy at 22:00hrs, and Back Circle battles Poor People Defense from 22:30hrs.

On August 6th at the same venue, North Ruimveldt tackles Future Stars from 19:00hrs, while East Coast Drippers oppose Stabroek Ballers at 19:30hrs, and Swag Entertainment takes aim at Channel-9 from 20:00hrs.

The fourth match pits Albouystown against Family from 20:30hrs, with North East La Penitence tackling Future Crane at 21:00hrs, and Leopold Street opposing Beterverwagting (BV) from 21:30hrs.

The final two matches will pit Slingerz FC against Avocado Ballers at 22:00hrs, and Sparta against Sophia from 22:30hrs.

According to the correspondence, the event will also be staged at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue, Georgetown. The other playing dates are August 13, and 20 at the National Gymnasium, with the final pencilled for the 27th at Cliff Anderson Sports Hall. The competition, which will utilise an elimination format, will feature 32 teams.

The sponsors of the tournament include the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sport, GT Beer, Mohamed Enterprise, 94.1 Boom FM, Fireside Grill, Star Rental, Outside Bar, Aronco Services Inc., VP Sports, Prestige Distribution Services, Colours Boutique, La Rose Boutique, Kevin’s Reflections, News Source (with the Gordon Moseley Role Model award for the Most Disciplined player in the tournament), and the Guyana Football Federation.
