Ann’s Grove and Buxton Stars secured contrasting wins, when the East Demerara Football Association (EDFA) Stag Beer Senior Men’s League continued on Saturday at the Buxton Community Centre ground.
Elite League member Ann’s Grove made light work of Haslington Stars 7-0. The contest was effectively over at the end of the first half, as Ann’s Grove romped to a commanding 3-0 lead, following conversions from Phillip Williams, Denver Dennis and Dillon Wright in the 29th, 32nd and 38th minute apiece.
A further four strikes in the second stanza sealed the eventual lopsided result. Alden Lawrence, Shamar Beckles, and Ryan Seals scored in the 28th, 55th and 64th minute respectively, with Williams completing his brace in the 75th minute.
Meanwhile, Buxton Stars edged Airy Hall 1-0 compliments of Jamiel Callender strike into the far corner in the 52nd minute.
