Fight fans get ready, the Winfield Braithwaite Caribbean Schoolboys and Juniors tournament returns to the raucous Cliff Anderson Sports Hall this evening.

The three-night fixture which has attracted 13 boxers from within the region, gets cracking from 18.00 hours nightly.

Having arisen from the ashes of COVID-19, the annual event is back after a two-year hiatus with Team Guyana set to defend its title against pugilists from The Bahamas, St Lucia, and Trinidad and Tobago.

Team Guyana have dominated the event ever since its inception five years ago and Team Manager, Seon Bristol, expects the winning streak to continue.

Quizzed on how he envisions the boxers will perform in the ring, the veteran boxing administrator and promoter responded that he expects them to “bring their ‘A’ game.”

Bristol’s sentiments were also echoed by the officials of the visiting contingents. Six boxers will represent Trinidad and Tobago, five will don the colours of The Bahamas, while the remainder will fight for honors for St Lucia. Admission is set at $500 for stands and $1,500 for ringside.
