Pepsi Hikers, GCC Spartans, Woodpecker Hikers, and GCC the Sequel, secured wins when the Guyana Hockey Board (GHB) Lucozade Indoor Championship commenced last evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue, Georgetown.
In the men’s ‘B’ section, Pepsi Hikers downed Saints ‘S’ Team 8-4, while GCC the Sequel squeaked past Hikers Cadets 4-3 in the Men’s ‘A’ pool.
In the women’s section, GCC Spartans dismantled YMCA Old Fort Igniters 6-0, whilst Woodpecker Hikers crushed Saints by an identical score-line.
Meanwhile, in the U20 Girls ‘A’ division, GCC Spartans crushed YMCA Old Fort Samurais 6-0, while GCC War Dogs went down to Saints Scorpions 0-3 in the U20 Boys ‘A’ pool. The tournament continues at the same venue with another round of matches.
