GT Panthers into GFA Senior Men’s League elimination round with win over Santos

GT Panthers earned a berth in the elimination round of the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Senior Men’s League, upsetting Santos by a 2-1 score-line on Wednesday evening at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground, Bourda, Georgetown.

Locked at 1-1 heading into the final minutes of the fixture, Vincent Thomas made his presence felt as he recorded what proved to be the go-ahead winner in the 90th minute. Santos was then reduced to 10 players in the 90th plus1 minute, as Randy Roberts was issued with a red card.

Prior to the eventful conclusion, GT Panthers broke the deadlock with only two minutes on the clock, compliments of a Kelton Francis strike. Santos would eventually equalise in the form of Solomon Austin in the 39th minute.

Meanwhile, the home side crushed Black Pearl 4-0 in the earlier fixture. Lavaughn Enniss led the rout with a first-half double in the 24th and 34th minutes. Adding goals in the 22nd and 65th minute respectively were Ravi Coates and Lenmen Young.
