GCB’s TDO graduates from UWI with Masters

Former West Indies pacer now Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Territorial Development Officer Colin Stuart was among those graduating from the University of the West Indies recently.

The former speedster completed his Master’s degree in Project Management, an accomplishment that has garnered commemorations from his employers.

“The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) congratulates its Territorial Development Officer (TDO) Colin Stuart on the successful completion of an MSc degree in Project Management from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus,” the board said in a release.

“The President and Executive members of the GCB would like to extend best wishes to him and encourage him to continue his assiduous work geared towards the advancement of cricket in Guyana, and by extension the region,” the release noted.

The 49-year-old Stuart, who holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Guyana, is responsible for cricket development in Guyana and has held this position for several years.

The right-arm quick was one of the fastest bowlers in the region and beyond and represented both Guyana and the West Indies. His first-class career for Guyana spanned from 1994 to 2003 and he captured 144 wickets in 52 matches.

In his international career which saw him playing six Tests and five One-Day Internationals, he took 20 and eight wickets respectively.
