Guyana has been crowned the Men’s B-Division gold medallists, after defeating India by a 7-6 score-line at the Inaugural Pan Continental Curling Championship in Canada.

Guyana was represented by Rayad Hussain, Baul Persaud, Jason Perreira and Khemraj Goberdhan, with Paul Madgett serving as the coach. The country has now gained promotion to the A-Division..

The Guyanese will now compete against powerhouses Canada, United States, Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Chinese Taipei.

Meanwhile, teams that finish in the top five positions of the A-Division, will earn a berth in the 2024 World Men’s Curling Championship. This tournament will allow teams to earn points towards their bid to qualify for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.
