Stewartville will battle Den Amstel in the semi-final round of the Region #3 Zone in the ‘One Guyana President’s Cup’ Football Championships tonight at 20:30hrs, following respective quarterfinal victories on Saturday evening at the National Track and Field Centre, Leonora.

Stewartville downed Crane by a 2-0 scoreline. The contest was essentially sealed in the first half following two goals in the space of three minutes. Mishan Livan blasted a powerful strike into the far corner in the 12th minute. Adrian Adolph then got into the scoring act, directing his attempt into the back of the net from inside the penalty box in the 15th minute.

On the other hand, Den Amstel edged Parika 5-4 on penalty kicks, after regulation time ended scoreless. Meanwhile, Uitvlugt will lock horns with Pouderoyen in the earlier contest at 18:00hrs.

Meanwhile, in the Region #4 section, Tucville crushed the combination of Timehri/Soesdyke 7-2 at the National Training Centre, Providence. Kelsey Benjamin fashioned a hat-trick in the ninth, 18th and 52nd minute, while Rashawn Ritch, Jamal Codrington, Dennis Edwards, and Stephon Reynolds scored in the 11th, 14th, 19th and 56th minute respectively.

For the loser, the duo of Terrence Glasgow and O’Neal Michelle netted in the 58th and 68th minute respectively. Also, the grouping of St. Cuthbert’s Mission/Swan/Kuru-Kuru defeated Alberttown/Bourda via walkover.
