The registration period for the 2023 edition of the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ East Bank/West Demerara championships ended Tuesday paving the way for the  qualifying tournament to take place Sunday at the Pouderoyen Tarmac from 9:00am.

Tournament coordinator Travis Bess in a brief comment said, “38 teams have registered which is the largest number in the history of the tournament. The previous record was 34. All systems are in place for the qualifiers on Sunday at the Pouderoyen Tarmac.

The kick-off time is 9:00am sharp but teams are asked to be there half an hour before the start. Any team that fails to show-up to honour the fixtures from the playoff round will be suspended for two years inclusive of the players. Each match will be 12 minutes duration and if a winner is not produced, we will immediately head into sudden death penalty shoot-outs.”

The 38 registered teams are divided into two divisions. The East Bank teams are: Red Force, Red Triangle, Team Family, Kuru-Kuru Young Gunners, Epic Touch Family, Ramsay Clan Family, Young Gunners, Hill-Side, Team Lashup, ESPN, Bagotstown Warriors, Team Unknown, and Ballers Empire.
