St Rose’s High whips New Central High in YBG

St. Rose’s High Saturday ran roughshod over New Central High when the Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) ‘Regional Conference’ continued at the St Stanislaus College hardcourt.

St. Rose’s High racked up 65 points to a mere 15 by New Central High.

Paul France tallied 25 points and six rebounds while Chad Martin added 20 points and six rebounds.

For the losing team, Verol Edwards scored six points, five rebounds and had five steals.

In another fixture, Chase Academy crushed Christ Church 39-19. Anthony Vasconcellos recorded 15 points and six rebounds, Paul Emmanuel added 10 points and Niquan Fevier, six points and 14 rebounds.

For the losing team, Kwame Huntly netted 10 points and had six rebounds while Orlando Monah scored six points and pulled down 14 rebounds.

Over at the Marian Academy Hard-court, hosts Marian Academy crushed the School Boys Combined Team 38-10. Jaden Simon recorded a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds. He also had five steals. He was supported by Marian Fiedtkou, who scored  11 points, pulled in seven rebounds and added four assists and four steals in a fine all round display.

Contributing seven points and seven steals was Kaden Khan. For the losing team, Kalani Howard and Joban Adams scored four points each.

On Friday at the Marian Academy Hard-court, Carifesta Avenue, in the girl’s division, President’s College crushed Queen’s College 21-4. Chrisleyan Richard netted six points and had six steals whilst Adelicia Andries tallied four points. For the losing team, Alimah Eastman registered two points and pulled in four rebounds.

IN another fixture, President’s College B mauled New Central High 36-2. Javeia Henry tallied 16 points and pulled down six rebounds while Kenesha James netted six points and had four rebounds. For the losing team Deandra Benjamin scored two points.

In other results in the Boy’s pool, North Ruimveldt downed Richard Ishmael 24-13. Paul Cubin recorded 10 points and seven rebounds whilst Dax Arokium added eight points and six rebounds. On the other side, Khafani McAllister scored nine points, three rebounds, and three steals. Also, Government Technical Institute (GTI) defeated Tutorial High 24-14. Lamar Austin led the way with six points and five steals, whilst Martin Edwards, Resean Barnwell, and Kevic Shamsudeen netted four points each. For the losers, Zeldro Haynes tallied seven points and four rebounds.

Likewise, the School of the Nations dismissed St. John’s College 27-9. Ethan Raghoo tallied 11 points and seven rebounds while Zhigang Zhu added nine points and three rebounds. On the other side, Jahiem Quintin scored five points and had three rebounds. The event is sponsored by Edward B. Beharry and Company, G-Boats, and the NSC.
