LUCAS STOCK INDEX (LSI)
The Lucas Stock Index fell 2.867 percent during the final period of trading in April 2023 on the sale of 17,652 shares. Trading in this fourth period of April saw one Climber and three Tumblers as the LSI lost G$27.4B in value.
The lone Climber was Sterling Products Limited (SPL) whose stock price edged up 0.768 percent on the sale of 1,565 shares. The value of the LSI was brought down by the 10.688 percent drop in the stock price of Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) on the sale of 5,157 shares. Adding to the burden of the index was Demerara Bank Limited (DBL) whose stock price fell 0.236 percent on the sale of 640 shares and Demerara Tobacco Company (DTC) whose stock price declined 0.003 percent on the sale of 160 shares.
In the meanwhile, the stock prices of Banks DIH (DIH), Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (BTI) and Republic Bank Limited (RBL) remained unchanged on the sale of 8,228; 1,452; 94 and 450 shares respectively.
The LSI closed at 1,633.278.
