A 27-year-old minibus driver was on Wednesday granted $500,000 bail by Magistrate Judy Latchman after he was slapped with an indictable charge of rape of a minor.
Waylon Jordan, of Lot 15 Grove Public Road, EBD, according to a police release, was arrested on February 15th, 2023, and later charged with raping a child under the age of 16 Contrary to Section 10(3) of the Sexual Offence Act, Chapter 8:03.
The offence was allegedly committed in February of this year at Grove Public Road, EBD.
Jordan appeared at the Golden Grove/Diamond Magistrate’s Court and was not required to enter a plea. Bail was granted and the matter was adjourned to June 1st, 2023, for statements.
