Only time will tell if the enthusiastic Tevin Imlach, above, will add his name to the West Indies senior ranks.

The West Indies (A) team will tour Bangladesh later this month.

The team, which will be led by test wicketkeeper Joshua Da Silva, will contest three unofficial Test matches. The Guyanese players selected for this development series are:

Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Gukadesh Motie, Kevin Sinclair and Tevin Imlach. Chanderpaul and Motie have already graduated to the Test ranks while  Sinclair has worn the Maroon colours at the ODI and T20 levels.

The other Guyanese on the tour to Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, Imlach, will certainly want to join  fellow DCC teammates who have had the honor of representing the West Indies at the (A) Team level.

The first DCC (A) or (B) Team player was the late Andrew “Monster” Lyght (deceased) who was the most prolific batsman when the Timur Mohamed-Led West Indies B team toured Zimbabwe in 1983. Clyde Butts, who had a brief stint at DCC, was also on that tour. Linden `Bimby’ Joseph was the next DCC player selected when the Brian Lara-led B team toured Zimbabwe in 1989. Joseph carried the DCC flag again in 1992 when he represented the West Indies A team led by Courtney Walsh against England’s A team.

Roger Harper became the first DCC player to captain the West Indies A team. He was the man calling plays when the West Indies A team toured Sri Lanka in 1996. Keith Semple toured India and Bangladesh in 1998and he also represented the West Indies `A’ Team against England at Chedwin Park, Jamaica in 1998. Travis Dowlin joined the DCC West Indies A team ranks in 2006 when turned out for the Sylvester `Bouncing’ Joseph led A team against Sri Lanka A.

Travis Dowlin toured with the West Indies A team to Bangladesh 2010 while Christopher Barnwell represented the West Indies A team against India A  England A and Zimbabwe A.

Keemo Paul played against India A and England A teams while Kevin Imlach played against Bangladesh A in 2022.

Fast Bowler Rayon Thomas played for the West Indies B team, a Development Team playing in the Regional First Championship of the West Indies.
