Paruima defeats Kamarang 3-2 in Inter Village final

Paruima won the inaugural Upper Mazaruni Inter-Village U18 football championships after defeating Kamarang 3-2 Thursday evening at the Edwin United Sports ground.

Kimron Thomas, the subsequent highest goal scorer of the competition with five conversions, bagged a double in the 15th and 93rd minute whilst Arlindo Williams scored in the 65th minute. For Kamarang, the tournament’s eventual Most Valuable Player (MVP) Raydon Krammer recorded a brace in the 20th and 36th minute.

Meanwhile, Jawalla defeated Waramadong 4-2 in the third-place playoff. Bevon Jones tallied a double in the sixth and 58th minute, whilst Didan and Lebron Hunter scored in the 34th and 60th minute apiece. For Waramdong, Leon Larson scored twice in the 12th and 58th minute respectively.

In the individual section, Dominic Elliman of Paruima was adjudicated the Best Goalkeeper.

Meanwhile, in the earlier semi-final section, Paruima edged Jawalla 6-5 on sudden death penalty kicks, after normal time ended 2-2.  Harmoney Percy and Kimron Thomas netted in the 37th and 44th minute respectively for Paruima whilst Jones and Deon Williams scored in the 11th and 14th minute each for Jawalla.

Also, Kamarang downed Waramadong 3-1 on penalty kicks after regulation time ended 1-1. Larson netted for Waramadong in the 13th minute whilst Alfie Anderson scored in the 58th minute for Kamarang.

The event, which was coordinated by the DC Caesar Fox School, was sponsored by the Petra Organization, MVP Sports and Trophy Stall.
