Waramadong, Jawalla capture Upper Mazaruni U-15 Football titles

Waramadong and Jawalla were crowned the Upper Mazaruni U-15 Boy’s and Girl’s football champions, respectively, following hard-fought wins on Sunday at the Waramadong ground.

This was disclosed by the tournament coordinator, Neil Henrito.

In the boy’s division final, Waramadong squeaked past Paruima by a 1-0 score-line. Identically, Jawalla defeated Paruima 1-0 in the girl’s final.

In the boy’s third-place encounter, Kamarang defeated Kako 2-1, while in the girl’s third-place playoff, Kamarang downed Waramadong 2-0. The top four finishers in the competition walked away with the respective placement trophy and medals.

On the individual side of the presentation, Maicon Gonsalves of Paruima walked away with the Most Valuable Player (MVP) accolade for the boy’s segment, while Cezanta Reuben of Jawalla was awarded the title for the girl’s division.

Reuben also copped the Highest Goal Scorer trophy in the girl’s division with three conversions, while the male counterpart winner was Lot Granes Paruima with six goals.

Meanwhile, Romel King of Paruima walked away with the Best Goalkeeper accolade for the boy’s division, while Nadeen Hunter of Jawalla was the recipient in the girl’s section.
