Tucville based club, Fruta Conquerors, received a cache of equipment from the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Members Financial Assistance Programme (M-FAP) to aid in the staging of its Summer Grassroots Programme.

This was disclosed by an official release from the federation. According to the correspondence, Fruta Conquerors received cones, balls, training vests, and hurdles during a simple presentation staged on August 10th at the GFF National Training Centre in Providence, East Bank Demerara. Travel Foundation has partnered with the Tucville entity to conduct the forum. GFF Technical Director Bryan Joseph said, “The support given to the Fruta Conquerors Summer Grassroots activity is all part of the continued efforts of the Federation to support its members in every way it can through M-FAP.”

The purpose of the summer grassroots programmes, which were launched in August in the jurisdictions of Georgetown, Linden, Essequibo, and Berbice, is to increase the local player population.

The GFF MFAP Programme was introduced to support the entity’s membership under the pillars of Administration and Operations, Equipment and Material, Competition and Technical Development, and Infrastructure Development.

“In three years, the entire football fraternity has seen the positive impact M-FAP has had on football development in Guyana with the distribution of equipment and millions of dollars to Regional Associations. In June, a total of $12.4 million dollars were given to the Federation’s Regional Associations to support the staging of the 2023 Senior Men’s League across Guyana”, the release stated.
