(Trinidad Guardian) Father of six Ronald Mc Queen was gunned down outside his Pleasantville home.

The shooting occurred at 12:45 p.m. at Pleasantville Avenue.

Police said Mc Queen, 64, was standing at his front gate when loud gunshots were heard. Mc Queen started to run and collapsed on the roadside.

Police recovered over 21 spent shells at the scene of the crime.

Neighbours described Mc Queen as a straightforward man who worked hard all his life as a painter. They say he was eagerly awaiting his 65th birthday when he could finally collect his old age pension.

His daughter who requested anonymity corroborated this. Recalling the tragedy she said, “I got a phone call saying my father got shot and dead. He break his hand while running.”

She said she last saw her father on Wednesday.

“I never thought anything like this would happen. My father loved to use obscene language with people. All he used to ever talk about was that he cannot wait to reach 65 when he could collect that government pension,” she said.

Police believe Mc Queen was an innocent victim in an ongoing feud between rival gangs in Pleasantville.
