Following a fruitful meeting recently with Minister of Sports, Charles Ramson Jr, who verbally pledged the government’s support, “early December” is touted for Elton Dharry to make his ring return.

The USA-based Dharry, who flew back to Guyana last week to tie up loose ends for the upcoming card, told this publication yesterday that he is excited to return to the ring following an ankle injury.

Dharry is set to headline the event set  to be hosted at the Everest Cricket ground or the National Stadium.

According to the slick orthodox fighter, his WBC International Super-flyweight title which he won in a hard fought battle last April at the Providence National Stadium, in front of a packed audience which included President, Irfaan Ali and Ministers of the Cabinet will be on the line.

In the co-feature, Dexter Marques will fight for the WBC FECARBOX title in what promises to be the marquee boxing event of the year.

The card is sanctioned by the WBC and the Guyana Boxing Board of Control and will be organized by Nexgen Global Promotions and Jack Bharat in association with the Everest Cricket Club and Ministry of Sports

More details on the fixture and the respective opponents of Dharry and Marques will be published in a subsequent article.
