In a display befitting a chief executive,  ENet’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Vishok Persaud completely annihilated the field in his KTM X-Bow in the clash of Group 4 superstar drivers to bring the curtain down on the ENet sponsored ‘Caribbean Clash of Champions’ yesterday at the South Dakota Circuit.

Urged on by a capacity crowd, Persaud led from almost start to finish and clocked the fastest lap of the day at 1:16.691 seconds. His closest challenger, Mark Vieira, entertained the crowd with a rousing drive to finish second.

Persaud was always in the top three from the first lap and made his mark on the race in the early stages, negotiating the gooseneck smoothly to leave Vieira, Leonard Samaroo and Andrew King in his dust.

In the battle for second, Vieira, who at one point had dropped as far back as fifth, produced a stunning comeback drive to overshadow Samaroo and King much to the excitement of the crowd.

Meanwhile, Matthew Vieira, performed creditably but could not match the prowess of UK’s Daniel Linfoot and Lee Jackson who claimed the top two podium spots in that order in the Super Stock Bike category. Vieira to his credit finished third.

Linfoot has a best lap of 1:17.014 seconds to leave his mark on the bike race and win bragging rights on behalf of Team Mohamed’s.

Over in the Starlet Cup in Group 3, Danny Persaud was impressive, holding off Anand Ramchand and Vishal Sawh to win on the day with Ramchand and Sawh settling for second and third respectively.

In a shortened schedule, the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMR&SC) pulled off one of the smoothest motor racing events in recent memory, with all races going off on time and kept in strict adherence to the set time table.
