Bartica, Georgetown record wins in NAMILCO u17 League

Bartica and Georgetown recorded hard-fought wins when the National Milling Company (NAMILCO) u17 Football Championship continued yesterday at the Georgetown Football Club ground in Bourda.

Bartica defeated Rupununi 2-0. Ian Gomes found the back of the net in the 66th and 80th minutes.

Meanwhile, Georgetown edged the National U15 programme 2-1. Joshua Bentick and Charles Austin etched their names on the scorer’s sheet in the eighth and 40th minutes, respectively. On target in the loss was Jade Adonis in the 65th minute.

On Saturday at the Rosignol Community Centre grounds, West Berbice, which hosts Berbice, defeated East Coast Demerara 3-2. Tyrone Delph tallied a brace in the 67th and 84th minutes, while Shamar Johnson netted in the 64th minute. On target in the loss was Shaquan David in the 17th and 73rd minutes.

Over at the Anna Regina Multilateral Ground, home side Essequibo/Pomeroon lost to Rupununi 0-2. Shavez Moses and Adrian Cabral netted in the sixth and 89th minutes, respectively.
