Slingerz FC defeated Winners Connection of Linden when the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Elite League Playoff continued last night at the Eve Leary Ground, Kingston.
The lone conversion of the match transpired in the 39th minute. Clive Nobrega was the scorer, blasting a left-footed strike at the top of the 18-yard box into the back of the net.
In the earlier contest, the Beacons defeated Herstelling 3-2. Veteran forward Anthony Abrams recorded a double in the eighth and 45th minutes, while Keon Douglas added to the score in the 22nd minute. The losers found the back of the net twice, in the form of Kiyose Richardson and Kevin Padmore in the 39th and 70th minutes, respectively.
Meanwhile, over at the No. 5 ground in West Coast Berbice, Monedderlust thrashed the Beacons of Bartica 4-1. Paul McDonald and Teron Welch scored in the 26th and 48th minutes apiece, with a pair of own goals in the 41st and 55th minutes apiece adding to the score. For the loser, Curt Welcome netted in the 14th minute.
