On Tuesday, 16th January 2024, Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) officers conducted an operation in the East Ruimveldt area where they observed a male carrying a bulky salt bag.
Upon seeing the CANU Officers, the male dropped the said bag and escaped. A subsequent search of the bag revealed a 12-gauge shotgun and five matching rounds of ammunition, a release from CANU said.
The shotgun and the ammunition were taken to CANU’s Headquarters.
