Shamar Apple became the latest recipient of the ‘Cricket Gear for Young and Promising Cricketers in Guyana’ project following the acquisition of a pair of cricket shoes.

This was confirmed by an official release from the organization. Shawn Massiah presented the equipment to the emerging cricket team during a simple presentation ceremony.

According to the correspondence, “Shamar Apple, arguably one of the best young cricketers at the Under-15 level in Guyana, was the latest to benefit from this joint initiative between Kishan Das of the USA and Anil Beharry of Guyana. He was the recipient of a pair of cricket shoes from Cricket Equipment Guyana. Apple is a wicketkeeper and a dashing left-handed opening batsman who hits the ball with immense power. A student of St. Winifred Secondary School, he represents the progressive Transport Sports Club in all forms of cricket.”

In excess of 70 players from all three counties have been beneficiaries of the initiative.
