Guyana will make its debut at the Indoor Hockey Masters World Cup, which is slated for March 28th – April 1st, in the Over-45 category, as the 12-member roster arrived in England on Monday.

This was disclosed in an official release from the Guyana Hockey Board (GHB). The squad comprises Jerazeno Bell (captain), Gregory Garraway (goalkeeper), Azad DeAbreu (goalkeeper), Dwayne Scott, Chris Low-Koan, Marc King, Devin Munroe, Alan Fernandes, Devin Hooper, Ivor Thompson, Ian Nicholson, and Philip Fernandes. On the management side, Allan Newark and Jonathan Roberts will serve as the manager and head coach, respectively.

Guyana has been placed in Pool B, which comprises England, Canada, and Wales. The Guyanese will open their campaign tomorrow at 18:00hrs against Canada. They will then oppose England on Friday morning before ending their group campaign on Saturday against the Welch.

The release stated, “This World Cup is the largest ever, with 42 men’s teams and 33 women’s teams in divisions running in 5-year groups from over-35 right through to over-60. The tournament takes place at the David Ross Sports Village on the University of Nottingham Campus.”
