Blue Water Shipping donates concrete poles to MOE ground

The infrastructural expansion of the Ministry of Education ground on Carifesta Avenue received a boost yesterday as Blue Water Shipping donated several concrete poles that will be utilised to improve the existing lighting apparatus of the facility.

The company purchased three concrete poles, which will replace their wooden counterparts at the venue, which is primarily utilised by the Petra Organisation to stage several school football tournaments of varying age categories.

Troy Mendonca, Co-Director of the Petra Organisation, thanked the Ministry of Education for allowing the entity to utilise and develop the facility, noting that partnerships of this nature highlight that collaborations can occur between the private sector and the sporting community.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Falconer, Blue Water Senior Vice President of Operations, stated that the establishment is honoured to contribute to the facility, noting that the Petra organisation has an unparalleled record in the development of school football at every level and gender.

She further stated that this contribution once again indicates the company’s commitment to the development of the local sporting landscape.

Similarly, Blue Water Senior Vice President of Sales and Development Richard De Nobrega stated the facility is home to many events and that sports is an avenue for values to be built and shared, adding that the company is fully committed to the advancement of sport.

Also, Joel Gonsalves, representative of the Allied Arts Department of the Ministry of Education, said that partnerships of this nature are in line with the core goals of the ministry, which are to make education holistic, as sports develop rounded individuals.

He further thanked the company for their decision to invest in the sports sector by contributing to the development of the facility, which will be utilised by scores of students.
