Two-time defending champion Gold is Money will take aim at Laing Avenue, while North East La Penitence faces off against North Ruimveldt in the semi-final round of the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Georgetown Championship after quarterfinal wins on Saturday evening.

Staged at the National Park tarmac in Thomas Lands, the West Front Road-based Gold is Money outfit overcame Albouystown Warriors 2-1 via a ‘Guinness Goal’ [a goal scored in the final three minutes of normal time counts as two] in the 39th minute by Shemar Koulen.

On the other hand, their opponent, Laing Avenue, upset ‘dark horse’ Lodge All-Stars 2-0. Bevney Marks tallied a first-half brace to secure the win.

Meanwhile, North East La Penitence downed fierce rival Back Circle 3-1. Colwyn Moore, Akil Plass, and Kelvin Moore found the back of the net. Also, North Ruimveldt overcame Unstoppable 2-1. Up to press time, the semi-final segment and eventual final were underway at the same venue.
