Man, 71, charged with causing death of Queenstown cyclist

Anthony Ramsahoye,  71, was charged on Tuesday with causing the death by dangerous driving of Garfield Bridgemohan, a 37-year-old pedal cyclist of Queenstown, Essequibo Coast.

The incident occurred on 19th January 2024 on the public road at Queenstown, Essequibo Coast.

The police said in a statement yesterday that the case was heard at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Tamieka Clarke.

The defendant pleaded not guilty, and bail was subsequently granted by the Court in the sum of $100,000, with conditions that he lodge his passport with the court and report to the Station Sergeant at the Anna Regina Police Station every last Friday of the month.

The case was adjourned to 23rd April 2024.
