Hi-Flyers and MS Ballers recorded hard-fought wins in the men’s division when the King and Queen Beach Football Championship continued on Sunday evening at the PPP office compound in Mackenzie, Linden.

Hi-Flyers soared past HH Ballers 2-1. It was a come-from-behind result engineered by an Emmanuel Atkins second-half brace. Falling behind to a Runic Velloza conversion in the 17th minute, Atkins made his presence felt as he found the back of the net in the 23rd minute.

He then completed his brace in the dying moments of the contest, sealing his brace with a 35th-minute strike.

Similarly, MS Ballers edged YMCA by a score-line of 1-0. Shawn Arthur recorded the only conversion of the encounter, as he found the back of the net in the 25th minute.

In the women’s division, Aroaima and Hururu played to a 1-1 stalemate. Odessa Smith opened the scoring for Aroaima in the fifth minute, only for Niekesha Persaud to restore parity to proceedings in the 14th minute.

The tournament continues on Friday at the same venue with another round of matches.
