Letters to the Editor

Traffic chaos at Mackenzie/Wismar Bridge

Dear Editor, Since the removal of the Control Tower from the centre of the Mackenzie/Wismar Bridge, vehicular movements have become chaotic due to the automatic changeover of the traffic lights.

How about the principle of proportionality across the board

Dear Editor, I read with some bemusement of the government, peopled exclusively by PPP/C members and supporters, seeking the intervention of the Courts on the basis that the “Compo-sition of the Committee of Selection is violative of the principle of proportionality as contemplated by the Constitution”.

Authorities must put an end to racing at Le Ressouvenir

Dear Editor, I  manage a business based at Le Ressou-venir on the East Coast of Demerara and would like  to make an appeal to the relevant  authorities to put an immediate stop to the dirt /grass track riding activities and ATV  vehicles around this area.

Gayle must apologise first

Dear Editor, A straightforward basic elementary issue of maintaining discipline is surprisingly creating problems of obnoxious proportions for seemingly intelligent personalities and I refer to the astounding intemperate outbursts by former West Indies cricket captain Christopher Gayle, who took to the electronic media in Jamaica and proceeded to publicly harangue officers of the West Indies Cricket Board including the official coach Ottis Gibson and the board itself.

Dear Editor, When one is placed in a position of authority and takes to nurturing an over sensitiveness to criticisms of their performance, they must withdraw themselves from the position so as to open out an avenue for progress.

Drip, drip at Chateau Margot

Dear Editor, I would appreciate it, if you may, as you have done in the past, ask GWI why the Chateau Margot/LBI area has not been receiving water for the past week.

There should be no role for former members of the GCB

Dear Editor, Now that they have all resigned, it is my fervent hope that there will be no place for any of the former members of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) in the new dispensation of Guyana cricket under Clive Lloyd’s Interim Management Committee (IMC).
