Dear Editor, Young Voices is an organization which offers young persons with disabilities (PWDS) in developing countries the opportunity to empower themselves and change the way disability is viewed. 

Dear Editor, APNU/PNC came in second for the fifth consecutive election in twenty years.

Dear Editor, In SN of Saturday, December 10, 2011, Ian McDonald came up with a curious bit of fact-finding, albeit in the ‘integrity’ of the election – a descriptor, so far as I recall, not found in any of the published sections of the reports by the observer teams.

Dear Editor, With reference to Mike Persaud’s letter (‘While the PPP/C won the presidency, they did not win the elections’ SN, December 12), my tabulation never mentioned anything about who won the government or otherwise (‘An interesting statistic’ SN, December 7). 

Dear Editor, I was in awe with regard to the organisation and competition in the just concluded four-day Diamond Mineral Water Indoor Hockey Tournament which concluded on Sunday 11, 2011 at the National Gymnasium.

Dear Editor, Now that the voting populace of Guyana has spoken, they would undoubtedly wish to see a return to normalcy in our country, so that the continuous and accelerated development to which we of the PPP/C committed in our 2011 election manifesto and to which decent and progressive Guyanese eagerly look forward, can begin to be realized.

Dear Editor, It is with a great measure of relief that I may properly describe Mr Charles Ramson as the outgone Minister of Legal Affairs. 

Dear Editor, The response of Stabroek News to Help & Shelter’s letter registering its dismay over Stag Beer ad campaign and calling for its immediate withdrawal raises some concerns. 

Dear Editor, For the first time in the life of the Cooperative Republic, we have a minority government, and some may say this may not bode well for the future. 

Dear Editor, Like other national elections in Guyana the 2011 elections have left us a reminder of division with heavy Afrikan support for APNU and heavy Indian support for PPP/C at the polls. 

Dear Editor, I am sure it is well documented somewhere that during the run-up to the recently concluded elections, I was a vociferous critic of the old regime and had serious misgivings about Donald Ramotar’s ability to be the nation’s chief executive.

Dear Editor, The new president is in place and the cabinet has been sworn in. 

Dear Editor, The private sector has been getting a lot of attention over the last few days, especially after concerns were raised about the comments made by representatives of the Private Sector Commis-sion in the public and other media about the elections. 

Dear Editor, I refer to Bud Mangal’s letter titled ‘An interesting statistic‘ (SN, December 12), and ask what is he saying or trying to say?

Dear Editor, Members of the administration including the hierarchy of the police force must stop treating the citizens of the country as though they will easily fall prey to their blandishments and propaganda.

Dear Editor, The elections are over and the changes that are likely to take place at the level of the National Assembly are welcomed by most people and are the subject of discussion throughout the country.

Dear Editor, The omission of Ramnaresh Sarwan from the Guyana squad selected for the upcoming T20 Regional Tournament was hatched at the level of the West Indies Cricket Board in collaboration with some Guyanese cricket officials.

Dear Editor, Am I Rip Van Winkle? Have I been asleep?

Dear Editor, I have started a Facebook page called Our Guyana in the hope that it will become another forum for Guyanese, at home and in the diaspora, to express and harmonise our views about the change we envision for Guyana.

Dear Editor, Now that we have a new government in place, I would like to beseech the President to reverse the stoppage of state advertisements to the private newspapers.
