Dear Editor, The best two pieces of news this week were that Mr Moses Nagamootoo had withdrawn from the PPP/C and then that he had joined the AFC.

Dear Editor, I wish to respectfully issue a word of advice to my hero, Mr Clive Lloyd, to be very cautious of any association with those persons holding themselves out as Executive Members of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB).

Dear Editor, The recent news that Mr McWilfred  has joined the PPP/C  and is on their list for our November national election has surprised most of the gold miners.

Dear Editor, All these years as a Guyanese citizen and witness to several national elections, I am still aggrieved by the rancour that characterizes election campaigns in this country.

Dear Editor, Early this year I had written a letter to you complaining that GPL is sending light bills to customers sometimes one week after the due date for payment has gone.

Dear Editor, Some years ago I heard a story about a poor boy who was a student at Queen’s College – I pray my memory serves me well.

Dear Editor, Karl Marx in the 18th Brumaire of Louis Bonaparte alluded to the words from Aesop’s Fable the Swaggerer, “Hic Rhodus, hic salta” which means “Here is the rose, here dance.”

Dear Editor, “I want to say to all who are gathered here and Guyana as a whole, I believe if Jesus Christ who I serve was in Guyana and he had to vote, he would have voted for the PPP/C” – Bishop Juan A Edghill speaking on the evening of Sunday, October 23 at Lusignan, East Coast.

Dear Editor, Bishop Edghill reportedly claimed that Jesus would “vote for the PPP/C.”

Dear Editor, Please allow me the opportunity to respond to the letter of Mr Kwame Mc Coy that appeared in Stabroek News on October 19 (‘By virtue of the key role he played in the education of soldiers, David Granger bears some responsibility for the ballot box killings’) and in KN, October 15, in reply to my letter in SN on October 14 (‘We need to have the true story of what happened in Guyana’) and in KN.

Dear Editor, I appreciate the fact that you published my letter in your Wednesday, October 26, 2011 edition.

Dear Editor, In these increasingly tense days, perhaps some levity is appropriate. 

Dear Editor, The political parties contesting the national and regional elections have submitted their respective list of candidates.

Dear Editor, As a donor to Food for the Poor (Guyana) Incorporated, the Non-Governmental Organisation which is successfully rendering its services to help comfort the poorest of the poor in Guyana, I realise that this organisation cannot be evaluated only by its name.

Dear Editor, 2011 appears to be a climactic year for party givers, as well as partygoers (also known as party crossovers).

Dear Editor, Politicians and diapers should be changed frequently and all for the same reason. 

Dear Editor, The ruling party started bottom-house meetings long before the other parties vying to rule Guyana could start their own meetings.

Dear Editor, We are shocked that PPP/C government officials (namely, Ms Teixeira and Dr Prem Misir) are raising the spectres of one of the most horrific human tragedies (Rwanda) as a possible scenario that may befall Guyana.
