So, President Hugo Chávez has been re-elected with a healthy 55 percent of the popular vote, though by a slimmer margin of victory than in the 2006 election – 10 percentage points as opposed to 26.

Puzzled by GTU silence

Dear Editor, I have been touched by the story of  the deplorable condition of the Head Teacher’s house in Mahdia which was the subject of yesterday’s SN Editorial, but I am puzzled by the silence from the Guyana Teachers Union and  do apologize  if they have commented through some other medium.
