Dear Editor,
Last year, Mr Jagdeo sounded quite statesman-like when he appealed to Buxtonians to forget occurrences of the past, so that the nation of Guyana could go forward with peace and compromise, but within a short while after that plea, Mr Jagdeo went to Babu John, Port Mourant and called on listeners to remember and to tell their young ones about the ills that the PNC government had done.

“A Presidential candidate shall be deemed to have been elected as President and shall be so declared by the Chairman of the Elections Commission –– (a) if he is the only Presidential candidate at the election; or (b)where there are two or more Presidential candidates, if more votes are cast in favour of the list in which he is designated as Presidential candidate than in favour of any other list.”
Dear Editor,

Dear Editor,
Reading his letter titled ‘Like Dr Jagan, Ramotar is unpretentious and modest‘ (SN, November 5), I seriously wondered how Cheddi Berret Jagan II could commit this travesty of associating Cheddi Jagan with Donald Ramotar.
MF Global’s precipitous decline into bankruptcy last week must have jerked unpleasant memories in this region about disappearing investors’ and pension funds.
Dear Editor,
The University of Guyana Senior Staff Association (UGSSA) is extremely dismayed at the recent decision by the Appointments Committee to send to Council for further consideration the contracts of several lecturers, which had been already approved by the Vice Chancellor.
Dear Editor,
Some contend it is $3,000,000 per month or $36,000,000 per year, while others argue that it will be $1,000,000 per month, or $12,000,000 per year.
